The Gubi 2 is manufactured from two types of recyclable materials: Steel tubing and PET fibre. A significant part of the Pet fibres are made from water plastic bottles and turned into PET felt mats. Two of these mats are moulded around a steel tube frame and the edge is water jet cut. Moulding of PET fibre is commonly used in the car industry as it meets the strict demands of flexibility, sound absorption, abrasion, fire resistance and is easy to clean. These are essential qualities for both vehicles and furniture. Combined with a pure straightforward look this makes the Gubi Chair 2 suitable for private homes, workplaces and public spaces like restaurants, meeting rooms and cafeterias. The chair is stackable and available in a plain colour or in two-coloured combinations of felt: Black, dark grey, light grey, off-white and sand. The base is chromium plated.
