The scheme provides accommodation for passport processing staff, associated public waiting areas and display and exhibition space. The design is organised by the provision of a wall, which defines the spaces created along its length, paradoxicallly cutting through the space, whilst uniting it. Materials that have been chosen for their clarity - planes of plaster, opaque glass and timber weatherboarding combine with earth colours - ochre tones undercut with a cool grey-green evoke an idealised Australian landscape.
