Environmental Policy

 

Apres Systems is committed to reducing the impact of its day to day operations on the environment and to continually reducing the carbon footprint of the business. We aim to take a sustainable approach to our business operation in the furniture supply and procurement industry. This addresses (but is not limited to) waste, energy, water and transport pollution.

 

This policy addresses the following aspects of our environment impact:

 

Energy

 

  • Emissions produced by running our office are offset.

  • Carbon energy use through implementing switch off policies and green energy tariffs.

  • Zoned, movement sensitive lighting controls.

 

Pollution

 

  • Staff encouraged to take public transport to business meetings

  • Carbon emissions from business travel taken into account in the carbon offset cost.

  • Cycling to work is actively encouraged.

 

Waste

 

  • Reduction, re-use and recycling of consumables including paper, glass, cans, toners and plastic.

  • Double-sided printing on recycled paper to reduce paper wastage.

  • Re-use and recycling of unwanted furniture.

  • Compliance with Duty of Care regulations.

 

Water

 

  • Implement water saving measures in our office environment where possible

 

Materials

 

  • Apres never source products made from endangered tropical hard woods and supply a large range of furniture made from sustainable sources.

 

We endeavour to continually improve our environmental performance and undertake a review of this policy on a sixth-monthly basis.

 

Aprčs are compliant with all relevant legislation.

 

The Managing Director is responsible for implementing this policy which is freely available to all staff, clients and contractors.
